What is Infrared Sauna therapy?

Unlike traditional sauna that heat the air, infrared saunas use infrared light technology to heat the body at the core. As a result, you sweat much more but at a lower temperature. When the infrared light penetrates the cells of your tissue, joints, and muscles, the body releases built-up toxins through the skin, the body’s largest organ.

How Infrared Light works

Using patented LED panels, the Sunlighten® infrared sauna provides the full spectrum of infrared light. This powerful combination is achieved by fusing three waves of infrared light — near, mid, and far infrared light.

Mid-infrared (MIR) light and far-infrared (FIR) light are optimized for the best absorption for relaxation and health benefits. MIR light best penetrates tissues and joints, and generates the most heat from inside the body rather than the air. FIR light has been clinically shown to increase core body temperature up ~5.4℉, which is best for increasing sweat and detoxification. Near-infrared (NIR) light is best at penetrating the skin (3mm) and activating the mitochondria.

Infrared Light usage

Infrared saunas do not generate unbearable levels of heat, allowing you to stay in the saunas for longer and reap more overall health benefits. Our sessions are approximately 35 minutes and the temperature is generally set to between 110-130℉ according to your comfort.
